October and November were the months of set backs. The end of October brought a knee injury with a two week rest period and the first week of November brought an illness with a two week rest period. The last couple of weeks have been a struggle to get back into the swing of things. I’ve been waking up early and at least attempting all of my workouts.
I was still pretty sore through yesterday after my half-marathon. I ran hard and the wind certainly did a number on me. I struggled to hit my Tuesday workout as well as run my track workout yesterday afternoon since I had to postpone from Sunday. Monday I will recap this week and look forward at the week ahead.
With all of the changes that have happened recently (moving, finally got my license for work, injuries, illnesses, etc), my workouts have taken a back seat. On Cyber Monday, the Miami Marathon had a 50% off sale for the first 20 to register, obviously I had to jump on that. So here I am again, starting the marathon process with about 8 weeks till race day (good thing I’m already well conditioned!).
Any marathon vets with advice for the newbie?
