So yesterday I posted about resolutions, but I didn’t go over how we spent the last day of 2016 and the first day of 2017.
I had to work until 2pm on Saturday and I quickly went to Trader Joes for my weekly shopping since they would be closed on Sunday for the holiday. When I got home, we unloaded the groceries, put them away and I changed to head out to see our friends. They recently moved out to a youth camp property where one of them works and we spent the afternoon on the gun range testing out Mike’s new Christmas presents. We returned to their home for a nice dinner before heading back to our house to fall asleep long before the clock struck midnight. That’s the best way to spend the evening if you ask me!
Sunday I slept in. It was absolutely glorious. Mike went out early to go retrieve his tree stand and do a little hunting for the last day of season. No luck. I had a lazy morning and started taking down some of the Christmas decorations before heading to a Century Ride at Krank It Spin Studio. Guys, let me tell you, if you haven’t been to spin in 3+ years, your bum will be mighty sore after 100 minutes! It was totally fun though and a great way to start the new year!
We spent the rest of the day taking down Christmas decorations and cleaning up the house from all the chaos of the last few weeks. Dinner was meatloaf, horseradish mashed potatoes and collards. It was a lovely way to start the new year!
How was your New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day?
